My name is Brian Stratton, and I am a self-trained digital
Photographer. Although I have relatively limited formal training in
photography, I
have an extraordinary amount of practice and self education in this artistic field. In my estimation, I have taken approximately 50,000
photographs in the past 5 years, which amounts to an average of 10,000 photographs of varying subjects per year.
My formal education is in the discipline of Landscape Architecture. I have a Bachelors’ of Science in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers
University. As a landscape designer, I have always placed the greatest importance on the impact of plants, and more specifically, flowers.
I have always been amazed at the incredible balance of strength and delicacy of these biological wonders.
My true passion in photography is capturing the incredible beauty of flowers in a larger than life scale. The extraordinary details of a flower's
architecture is often overlooked. The only way to show these details accurately is through the eyes of a Bumble Bee. Only then, can we truly
admire flowers the way they deserve to be.
